Apparently, David Archuleta has been dropped from Jive Records. After coming in second place to David Cook in the seventh season of American Idol, Archuleta’s debut album sold over one million copies in the United States and seemed to promise him to be on the track of Kelly Clarkson and not Justin Guarini (yeah.. remember him?). Yet now, in 2011 after his second album The Other Side of Down peaked at #13 on the Billboard 200 charts and has to date sold only about 63,000 copies. I guess that’s what happens when an American Idol first runner-up is the opening act for Disney Channel actress-turned singer, Demi Lovato.
